Yeshi Choden

Yeshi is from Bumthang, where her family has farmed for generations and where her sense of place runs deep. She trained at the Bongde Institute of Hospitality and Tourism in Paro, spending two years there before building her experience across hotels, catering, and eventually Sangwa Camp — where she says she learned more than anywhere else. What drew her to hospitality is simple: every day is different, every guest brings new knowledge, and there is something quietly satisfying about solving a problem in a way that makes someone's experience unforgettable. She has set up and designed service spaces across a range of settings, learning through practice what makes a space feel right — the right arrangement, the right detail, the right atmosphere before a guest arrives. Her creativity extends outside of work. She has drawn since she was eight years old — mountains, trees, flowers — finding in it the same pleasure she finds in setting a table well: attention to what something looks like and how it makes a person feel.
