Growing up in a farming family in one of Bhutan's most celebrated valleys gave him an early and instinctive connection to the outdoors, to tradition, and to the quiet rhythms of rural life. It is a connection he has never lost interest in preserving. He has trekked to Laya with guests, spending a week in the high-altitude valley where the culture, dress, and way of life differ markedly from the rest of Bhutan. The most incredible trip I've ever done — in no small part thanks to MyBhutan planning the most inspiring and interesting itinerary, and ensuring it all was seamless. Rich in storytelling around history, geography, and culture Pencho was as excellent a guide as I've ever had, and Kencho Dorji an expert driver. Pitch perfect in every way, from the accommodation recommended, to the temples and museums visited, to the food and drink and attention to detail. The Sangwa Camp was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
