Amankora
རི་བོ་ཇིཀྲུ་ཌེཀAmankora Bumthang is a 5-star luxury resort located in Jakar town adjacent to Wangdichholing Palace, the oldest palace in Bhutan and a former summer residence of the first and second king. It is one of five Amankora lodges in Bhutan's central and western valleys, offering service that is exceptionally attentive to guest needs. As with other Amankoras in the kingdom, this one has high white-washed walls inspired by dzong (fortress) architecture and a layout designed to encourage community feeling. Clustered around the central courtyard are a library, a high-ceiling dining room, and a living room that is outfitted with daybeds, a traditional bukhari (wood-burning stove), and floor-to-ceiling windows through which to enjoy the landscaped grounds shared with the palace. Nearby are the 16 Suites, each of which also has views of the palace and the resort's central courtyard. All suites have a king-size bed, shower, twin vanities, terrazzo-clad bath, daybed, and bukhari. The spa has three treatment rooms, a steam room, and changing area.
