    Gangtay Nature Trail

    Gangtey Nature Trail is a moderate hike considered one of the most beautiful day hikes in Bhutan. Starting from just below the renowned Gangtey Goemba Monastery, the hike takes you down to the picturesque Semchubara village. After a short walk through the village, the trail takes you through a forest of conifers before it opens up to the vast plains of the Gangtey valley and takes you through gentle grassy slopes carpeted with purple primulas. The trail ends at the road head next to the beautiful Khewang Lhakhang. The Gangtey Nature Trail is a 4 km hike that offers some of the best views of the glacial valley of Gangtey, the wetlands and the globally endangered black necked cranes. A short leisurely hike to better enjoy the splendors of the valley and add to your list of everlasting memories.

    Believed to be the highest vegetable producer in Bhutan because of its perfect weather condition and the soil structure, Tsirang is also the first district to go 100 percent organic. The chemical fertilizers are not used at all in the region for any purpose. They use the traditional method such as animal manure to fertilize the soil and ash to control the acidity of the soil. The products from this district are highly demanded all around the country and are also priced a bit higher than other products because of their freshness.

    Everyone else in the world has their very own ways of celebrating the New Year. Likewise, Tamangs, a Nepali community living in Tsirang, Bhutan also has their own traditional way of celebrating it. Tamang Selo is a dance that is performed to a specific rhythmic sound of Damphu (tambourine) welcoming the new year with grace and celebration. Tamang dance is locally known as the “Damphu dance”. This tradition is unique only to the Tamangs living in Tsirang, Bhutan.
