A picturesque mountain pass connecting Wangdiphodrang and Trongsa districts, and standing at an altitude of 3300 Metres(10826.77 feet), this mountain pass instantly envelopes you in a magical serenity as you drive through it's alpine and mix conifers landscape. A majestic Stupa(Chorten) stands right in the middle of the road, believed to protect the weary travellers from negative elements and bless them on their way. The brightly painted rocks and the colourful prayer flags around the stupa adds to the sense of protection and well being. The breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the surrounding valleys are sometimes complimented by the occasional sightings of the Highland Yak and exotic bird species including the Himalayan Monal and the Satyr Tragopan. One can also explore the Rhodedendron Garden located in its premises or partake in the Longtoe Hike, a moderate to challenging hike from Pele La to Phobjikha valley. Make sure to stop for a breath of pure mountain air or walk into the small wayside shop for some chit chat with the owner over a hot cup of salted butter tea.
