Remochen Lhakhang
རི་བོ་ཇིཀྲུ་ཌེཀLooking through the panels of three ancient 14th Century doors that frame the temple, you see nothing but the faint outline of a guilded Guru Rinpoche, illuminated by the warm glow of two tiny butter lamps. The locals, all elderly but for one young woman and her toddler, make their way around the temple as they quietly spin each small prayer wheel that outlines the Lhakhang. Inside the monastery, the stone floor is made smooth by the thousands of feet that have crossed over them in the past thousands of years. You carefully make your way up a steep wooden ladder that leads to the main alter room. The Bhutanese make their prostrations while the head monk looks on. Upon rising from the floor, one will light a large butter lamp with a stick of incense, contributing their own good merit to an already auspicious place.
