Refund Policy

PART 1: REFUND POLICY FOR TRAVELERS WHO BOOK DIRECTLY WITH MYBHUTAN

Customers will be subject to a cancellation fee for tours booked, paid for, and later canceled as follows: 

  • More than 90 days prior to arrival date in Bhutan: no penalty
  • 61 to 90 days prior to arrival date in Bhutan: 30% penalty (Due to COVID, this clause is waived for all payments made prior to August 31, 2022)
  • 60 days or less prior to arrival in Bhutan: no refund 
  • For cancellations due to approved COVID-19 related restrictions (see PART 3): no penalty

The above cancellation policy includes — but is not limited to — any accommodations, meals, vehicles, guides, drivers, flights to/from Bhutan, trekking/camping, helicopter services and other activities or amenities.

The above cancellation policy does NOT include:

  • Payment processing and transfer fees. These fees are nonrefundable.
  • Private properties and private invitations. These fees are nonrefundable.
  • Donations. These contributions can only be refunded with permission from the receiving party.

Guest reservations are transferrable if the request is made more than 60 days prior to the arrival date.


PART 2: REFUND POLICY FOR AFFILIATE TRAVEL COMPANIES

Affiliate travel companies will be subject to a cancellation fee for tours booked, paid for, and later canceled as follows: 

  • More than 120 days prior to arrival date in Bhutan: no penalty
  • 61 to 120 days prior to arrival date in Bhutan: 15% penalty (Due to COVID, this clause is waived for all payments made prior to August 31, 2022)
  • 60 days or less prior to arrival in Bhutan: no refund
  • For cancellations due to approved COVID-19 related restrictions (see PART 3): no penalty

The above cancellation policy includes — but is not limited to — any accommodations (not including full property bookings), meals, vehicles, guides, drivers, flights to/from Bhutan, trekking/camping, helicopter services and other activities or amenities.

The above cancellation policy does NOT include:

  • Payment processing and transfer fees. These fees are nonrefundable.
  • Private properties and private invitations. These fees are nonrefundable.

PART 3: COVID-19 REFUND POLICY

Until December 31, 2022, a 100% refund will be issued to customers (or affiliated travel company) if the following restrictions occur more than 2 business days prior to the customer's (or affiliated travel company's) arrival date in Bhutan:

  • If all of Bhutan’s entrance countries (India, Nepal, Thailand, Bangladseh and Singapore) air and road ports close to non-essential travel.
  • If the Royal Government of Bhutan closes its borders to non-essential travel.
  • If the government of Bhutan does not allow non-essential travel from the visiting persons' country of origin.
  • If the government of Bhutan increases its mandatory quarantine period upon entering the country (if any) in comparison to the quarantine period that existed 60 days prior to the arrival date.
